3.1 Upgrade old versions

Older cashbook versions might sometimes have problems which have been fixed in the current version. We recommend you backup (using File, Backup) before you install a new version. First obtain the current version from our Download web page - fill out the form and follow the instructions on the web page. As mentioned below,  the cashbook needs full access to the Payge folder and sub-folders. The easiest way to do this is as Administrator - your computer supplier may be able to explain other methods.  As long as you do NOT un-install the previous version and simply install "over the top" of the old version, your current Registration is maintained.

3.2 How do I find my Installation Number?

The Installation Number is required when filling out the purchase form. To find it, please refer to the steps below:

  1. Click on the "Registration" menu.
  2. This computer's unique Installation Number will be displayed as a bright green number.

3.3 Install as Administrator

Valid access is needed. The simplest way to do this is to "run as Administrator". Installation of the download normally requires "Administrator" access with Vista. Full access to the cashbook folders is then needed to run the cashbook. Either logon as Administrator or right click the cashbook's leaf icon on the desktop and with the left button select "run as Administrator" to start the cashbook.

3.4 What change has the ATO made to the Fuel Tax Credit Rate ?

From 1/2/2016 the ATO announced changes to some Fuel Tax Credit Rates. This will only impact businesses who are registered with the ATO to claim Fuel Tax Credit (mainly farmers). Details are provided on the ATO website. In the cashbook simply overtype the default rate on the OUT Category being used for Fuel Tax Credit. Records for purchases before 1/2/2016 should be completed first as they use the old rate. The new rate, for heavy vehicles on public roads, is 13.36 cents per litre
